Taking part in a Memorial Day parade sometimes comes with responsibilities — it was the job of these guys to toss candy to spectators. Their chums on the sidelines got special service: candy hurled with a full windup.

Triumph can be a roar, a broad beam or a subtle smile, as demonstrated in these three young Phillies fans who were part of the crowd outside Philadelphia’s City Hall on Friday, awaiting the parade celebrating the team’s World Series victory.
