Day of delays

12Jul11

Working on an overhead electrical problem, Septa, Philadelphia, July 11, 2011.train troubleAlways nice when you’re being delayed and can look out the window of the commuter train to see exactly what’s causing the holdup. In this case, downed overhead wires above track between 30th Street Station and Suburban Station meant the loss of a track, so Septa engineers had to “single-track” for a stretch. Trains going both directions had to take turns waiting on the single track remaining at a very busy point in the network.
