Hawk that gawks
hawk, probably a young redtail, jan. 24, 2011, narberth, PA“You lookin’ at me?” a hawk seems to be asking from a perch in a tree in Narberth, Pa., on Jan. 24, 2011. The hawk, probably a young redtail, remained on the branch for nearly an hour, preening and puffing up against the 15-degree chill of a colder-than-usual period in the Philadelphia area. Eventually it heard the call of another hawk, replied (right), and a few minutes later flew off — in the opposite direction.
