Santa Express, Chicago-style

Afternoon commuters on the Orange Line’s Roosevelt station platform huddled against the blowing snow, then suddenly a southbound El train pulled in that sent a buzz through the throng: The train was heavily decorated with Christmas lights and a flatcar in the middle of the train carried Santa, a sleigh and eight tiny reindeer. Santa waved, cell-phone cameras snapped, passengers left and boarded, and in under a minute Santa was on his way.
