Luster & bluster @ the auto show

Cadillac ranch
FBuick desk, with color panels on wallorget names like Coupe de Ville and EldoNissan Tourigrado — that’s the 2010 Cadillac SRX, being touted by a guy who makes your local Caddy salesman seem like slacker. He and dozens of other spokesmodels were doing their best to sink a hook into people attending the eight-day Philadelphia International Auto Show, which started Jan. 31.  Despite the lousy economy and record layoffs, the automotive fantasy portion of the AJeep concept carmerican dream is alive and well, judging by the hordes swarming into the Convention Center on Sunday. Also notable was that so many of the dream cars still show mileage figures out of step with energy reality, many getting only in the neighborhood of 15 miles per gallon city, 24 miles on the highway.
