Splashes in the night

15Oct08

If Swann Fountain is a gem by day, its jewel-like qualities become even more exaggerated at night as the backlit waters swirl and shift in the middle of deserted Logan Circle. The lone figure seemed oblivious to the fountain’s majesty, and to the certainty that soon the waters will be shut off for winter. Moments earlier a noisy carload paused at the stoplight and one guy leaned out to holler to the photographer, “There’s a woman back there peeing! Really!”  As the light turned, he waved and asked, “Is this going to be on a Web site?”
