Early summer night’s toast

Steve Forbert croons \"Some Enchanted Evening.\"
Steve Forbert croons “Some Enchanted Evening” at the Bryn Mawr gazebo on Saturday, June 28, 2008. Forbert, who from a young age hoisted the banner of the world-weary, seemed at home in the humid heat of a Main Line evening, tormented on occasion by sound-equipment problems, gazebo lights that somehow troubled him, and the random squeals of frolicking children. Still, as one happy guest on the park lawn said of the ambience: “It’s like he’s playing to an audience in his own back yard.”

If he were playing in his own back yard I guarantee you there wouldn’t be any frolicking children squealing randomly! Why do people insist on bringing the rugrats to singer-songwriter shows?
